Do You Ever Feel Deleted?

Published by vphipps at 7:14 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Living within high speed technology today can leave me feeling deleted now and then. It’s a technical way to say, “I feel rejected today.”

How lost and alone can any soul be when the internet links souls lost and alone, apparently like me, to anyone anywhere on earth? I’m a member of every social web site online, and for what all those friends lists are worth, I’ve not heard a word for months. Have I been dumped? Have you deleted me too?Obviously it’s true what people say, “Out of sight -Out of mind.” Since I lost my eye sight, it feels as if I died. I’m invisible, and what people can’t see, they delete from their minds, apparently. You see, I own not one but three email accounts. I’m a member of a dozen social sites, and I even have a place at Myspace, so why do I feel so deleted online? I think it’s a high speed technology test. If I can’t find a jerk or even a pervert who will agree to contact me, what am I worth?

You see, since I can’t see to read, teach or drive, the Internet has become my heaven, earth and universe. My eyes don’t work, so you see, I’m invisible to society but I never once saw it coming. Who knew that I could, in fact, be deleted from my only human contact. How could I vanish from sight when I’m online all the time?

People are so busy today, the same way I used to be busy too. That’s why I can understand the distance that comes between human beings when we don’t open our eyes to see the reality that when we don’t think to send a message now and then, it’s as if we’ve been deleted from heaven, earth and the universe.

It makes no sense that anyone should still feel so lonely today with such high speed ways to reach out to humanity, yet here I sit, lost and alone in a twilight zone of my own, feeling deserted, abandoned and even deleted online! That’s why we need to think of this:

How busy can we be?

How much time does it take to type a few lines online to a friend, when all we need to do is to hit, “send?” Let’s refuse to use any excuse that makes no sense when it comes to keeping in touch with friends!
